The text matching report can be used as a tool to teach students how to properly acknowledge sources as well as highlighting possible plagiarism issues. The text matching function (PDF, Word and PowerPoint files only) reports on any text that matches sources found in the Turnitin database, including web content, previously submitted assignments, and subscription-based journals and publications.
Note: If creating a Turnitin Assignment for one student, (i.e for the purpose of a resubmission due to an academic integrity issue), use adaptive release so other students are not notified. You can set up online assignment submission (any file type) for students and then either mark the assignments online or download them. GradeScope can also be used for the submission of computer code assignments that can also be manually or automatically marked. Turnitin GradeScope is an additional tool for the submission and marking of handwritten assessments. Turnitin is a software tool that has functions for online student assignment submission, text matching, online marking and peer marking.
